I wrote it to solve my school geometry problems for 1992. Then, in early July 1993, my dad suggested that I write POWERGEO in C, which I was just gaining an interest in. I worked on it steadily for three days and finished my program. Then, seeing as I am 11 and not the worlds kid, I decided to distrubute GEOMETRY, as it was named then. My dad (he always gives me good ideas) then said that it would sell better with some flash, you know, colorize it, jazz it up, make it look REALLY professional. Mouse support was my idea. After one nights work to create a flochart, I set to work on what was to become POWERGEO. Chapter Two To install POWERGEO, type "install" followed by the complete path to where you want it located (EXAMPLE: install c:\edu\powergeo). This will copy all of the POWERGEO files to the path you specified. It does not matter whether or not the path exists; INSTALL will create it for you if it does not. Now, how to start POWERGEO. Chapter Three To begin POWERGEO, change directories to the POWERGEO directory, then type "powergeo", then press . POWERGEO will test to see if you have a mouse, and if so, set up the correct cursor for your system. POWERGEO has three text windows. One is the Selection Window, int the upper-right-hand section of the screen. You are able to view your selections there, and press the correct key, or, if you have a mouse, use it to make the appropriate selection. The second is the Output Window. Here is where all output AND input will take place. The last is the Logo Window. To tell you the truth, its only purpose is to fill up the remaining space on the screen! The POWERGEO logo was invented to fill up that space when I decided that I needed SOMETHING there, and the word "logo" came to my mind! Chapter Four I already explained this in the last chapter, so forget it. all I have to say is that to use POWERGEO with a mouse, you need a two or more button mouse. Chapter Five Here are the keyboard commands, although it is kind of straight- forward: A. Rectangles and Parallelograms 1. POWERGEO prompts you as always for the measurement unit(in., cm, etc.) 2. POWERGEO prompts you for the Length and Width 3. The Perimeter and Area calculations are printed. As for the rest, you get the idea, I am sure. Chapter Six To register, print out orderfrm.txt Then send completed form to: REALTIME SOFTWARE P.O. BOX 11 HOPE, RI 02831-0011 You will be placed on our mailing list and be the first to receive all subsequent versions of POWERGEO, free of charge. Also, you will receive the latest version COLORS, an MS-DOS compatible prompt color changer. COLORS requires an accomplice program to operate in conditions under MS-DOS 5.00.
